# iWork Expert Is Winding Down

After giving it quite a bit of thought, **I’ve decided to wind down iWork Expert**. The site will remain online for a little while longer, but I plan to take it offline within the next 30 days.

I started iWork Expert because I enjoyed working with Pages, Numbers, and Keynote and wanted to share useful things I learned along the way. It’s been rewarding to see people find the site through search, use the resources I’ve created, and even sign up as members, all without much promotion on my part.

But over time, I’ve been occupied with other things in life. Nothing bad (thankfully), but I’ve been busy with other creative projects I’m working on and there are other things I want to spend more time on. Not that I didn't enjoy having this website, but keeping iWork Expert active means continuing to dedicate time and attention to researching/validating, writing, updating, and maintaining it.

The internet has changed quite a bit too. **AI has made it much easier to get answers to many of the questions that once required searching for a tutorial**. I don’t think that makes tutorials or sites like iWork Expert useless, but it has made me think differently about what’s worth creating and where I want to spend my time.

There are also the hosting fees, which aren’t that high ($11/month), but it’s still a recurring cost I don’t really want to support given where my attention is currently. Rather than keep the site running indefinitely without giving it the attention it deserves, I’ve decided it’s time to wind it down.

**It kind of hurts to do that because I really like having the website**. But at the end of the day, this is what I’m choosing.

I’ll be preserving some aspects of the site and its content, and I’ll continue to own the iWork Expert domain for at least the next year. Beyond that, I don’t know what the future holds for iWork Expert. Maybe I’ll want to revisit it someday, or maybe this is simply where it ends. Worst case, if I ever want to do something like this again, I start over. Not the most ideal, but that’s the price you pay for these things.

For now, though, I’m ready to move on to other projects.
